It is with great emotion that a new symbol of the Republic was unveiled last Friday October 25 in the hall of the town hall of Tréveneuc (Côtes-d’Armor).

Hidden under the national flag, Mariannelike everyone present, had to wait until the end of the mayor’s speech to see herself officially inducted into the municipal house.

Marcel Serandour, mayor of Tréveneuc, paid tribute to the artist of this 100% Breton work.

Christine Le Luron, is one of the notable figures of our town. Through her work, she was able to capture the very essence of Marianne. While bringing her unique vision, she was able to symbolize strength, serenity and determination…

Free rein to your imagination

The bust of Marianne Christine Le Luron is a remarkable work of art in glazed stoneware in the artist’s usual colors, those of the Breton coast where the browns of the cliffs and the ochres of the blond sands contrast with the luminous blues, whites, grays and greens of the sea or the sky.

The artist, very surprised by this order, agreed to take up the challenge.

Initially, Christine Le Luron had considered taking her daughters as a model, to finally give free rein to her imagination, since there is no official standard for Marianne.

The sculptors therefore have the choice to represent Marianne as they wish, just as each town hall is libre to select the bust she wishes to expose.

The base of the bust was made by Stéphane Le Luronbrother of the artist and carpenter by profession.

Visitors will be able to discover and admire this unique and remarkable sculpture of Marianne, in the entrance hall of the town hall.
