“Shut up or go home.” » This was the directive given to Hannes Peer when designing The Manner, the new ultra-luxury hotel in Manhattan, the latest addition to the Standard International group. The Milanese architect took this challenge head on and transformed a SoHo building into a daring oasis of glamour. The property’s 97 rooms range from standard accommodation to duplex penthouses. They all share the same visual language, with glass and steel chandeliers, warm color palettes and lacquered headboards. Verena Haller, Chief Design Officer of the chain, cheekily compares rooms to “the home of your best friend, but a friend with exquisite taste”. Even in common areas, privacy is required, such as in The Apartment, the guest lounge adjacent to Sloane’s, the discreet cocktail bar located on the second floor. “The interiors are a tribute to the golden age of Milan”confides the architect.

A faceted fireplace stands out as the masterful element of The Apartment, the lounge reserved for clients and their guests, located on the second floor of the hotel. On the left, a ceramic column signed Ben Medansky.
