This musical evening, which took place in the presence of HM the King’s Advisor and founding president of theEssaouira-Mogador AssociationM. Andre Azoulaythe president of the municipal council, Tarik Ottmanias well as other eminent Moroccan and foreign personalities from the diplomatic, cultural and artistic spheres, perfectly embodied the musical elegance of Essaouira in all its splendor.

In a captivating atmosphere during this second day of Atlantic Andalusia Festivalthe Andalusian melodies radiated the spirit of openness and living together which characterizes this prestigious annual meeting, uniting the shores of the Mediterranean through musical repertoires as varied as they are enchanting. Thus, the Essaouira Choirs opened the ball with a unique medley, bringing together powerful voices in a performance that brilliantly highlighted the cultural richness and musical diversity of the city.

Accompanied by talented Souiri and Tangier musicians, the choristers amazed the audience with a rich and varied interpretation, brilliantly mixing traditional Moroccan songs, Andalusian influences and modern compositions.

The main stage of the Festival, set up in the Essaouira Omnisports Hall, then welcomed Carmen et Nabyla Maan for a concert called “Dos Medinas Blancas”, a musical tribute to Ibn Bâjja, an eminent figure in the philosophy and poetry of Al-Andalus.

In a fusion of flamenco, Aragonese jota, jazz and Arab-Andalusian music, the two singers embodied the spirit of openness and tolerance of Al-Andalus, dazzling the audience with interpretations of classical works , such as the “Zephyr Poem” and “Lamma Bada Yatathanna”.

Amid applause and murmurs of admiration, this show brought to life the heritage of an open and tolerant medieval Andalusia, uniting Morocco and Spain through music in an artistic fusion of rare beauty.

Finally, the evening ended in the intimacy of the “Dar Souiri” socio-cultural space, where surprise artists offered an emotional performance, making this festival even more unique and singular.

A true space for reunions and intercultural rapprochement, the Atlantic Andalusia Festival has thus made it possible, once again, to revive links between Moroccan and foreign musicians, making Essaouira a unique musical and cultural meeting place where the Andalusian magic continues to resonate.

Initiated by the Essaouira-Mogador Association, this nineteenth edition, which continues until November 2, promises even more enchanting moments, inviting lovers of Andalusian music to continue this exploration of shared cultural riches, thus consolidating the the plural and living identity of the City of the Trade Winds.
