Six plays will punctuate this meeting for theater lovers.
Traditionally held on November 11, the 2024 edition of the Quillan amateur theater festival, will take place from Thursday 7 to Monday 11 November at the Cathar Space. An unmissable event for lovers of drama and literature, this festival, organized with various amateur companies from all over Occitania, is organized by the municipality in partnership with the National Federation of Theater and Animation Companies,
During these five days, six plays for all audiences will be offered, all excellent and of a high level, offering a very varied cocktail of humor, drama or tenderness.
As the curtain rises, Thursday November 7 at 9 p.m., Agnès Belladonne, Théâtre du Triangle, dramatic comedy by Jean-Paul Alegre: the great actress Agnès Belladone is at the height of her glory. Every evening, she reigns over a court of admirers until the day when Anne, her protégé who is beginning to experience success, disrupts a balance that seemed immutable.
Friday November 8 at 9 p.m., Nostalgia for cockroaches, company Accordage by Pierre Notte: in a sanitized world, two septuagenarians, vibrant witnesses of a bygone era are on exhibition in a museum, under the surveillance of drones, at the mercy of a health brigade.
Saturday November 9 at 4 p.m., Poison, Open Door company by Dutch author Lot Vekemans: a man waits, a woman arrives, they haven’t seen each other for ten years. A tragedy separated them. Here they are face to face to resolve a matter of grave transfer, following a problem of pollution and poison.
At 9 p.m., Return to sender, the theater of the 4 seasons a play by Jean-Paul Alègre, directed by Guy Michel Carbou: the insane stories of a postman who secretly reads his letters before distributing them to their recipients. But as he reads, strange connections slip through.
Sunday November 10 at 4 p.m., Return to MadisonAntrios company, marital comedy by Éric Assous: watch the film On the road to Madison, in which passion conquers all, even on television, can have terrible consequences on the life of a couple! Karine and Didier will learn this the hard way.
Monday November 11 at 4 p.m., closing of the festival, Why are bad people bad, company Here and now. A piece where, based on texts, Jean-Claude Grumberg and Jean Raynier attempted to respond in a way that was both dramatic and humorous. This festival where comedy, poetry, discovery, listening and watching are shared, will not fail to seduce and entertain theater lovers of all kinds.
