The book is titled: Posthumous, postmortem photographs and afterlife relics. It is signed Philippe Baudoin and published by the editions Cernunnos.

The artist's collection Hervé Bohnert has more than a hundred post-mortem photographs from and the world, as well as funerary objects. It has never been shown or documented before. This book highlights, by showing this collection for the first time, the forgotten practice of post-mortem photography and offers a perspective on our current practices. Beyond their aesthetic power, these disturbing images tell the story of the evolution of our relationship to death and the afterlife.

An exhibition is also taking place until December 14 at the Alain Brieux Bookstore as part of the festival PhotoSaintGermain.
