Lonely Planet reveals the 30 destinations to visit with its Best in Travel 2025 ranking

Every journey begins with the inevitable question of where to go. The answer probably lies in the highly anticipated guide Best in Travel 2025 which has just been released and offers a list of 30 spectacular destinations in countries, cities and regions selected by the guide’s authors Lonely Planet the most experienced.

The ranking Best in Travel 2025 of Lonely Planet

Each of the destinations chosen for 2025 has something unique: the ancient civilization of Armenia, perfect for outdoor activities with hiking on the Armenian National Trail; Switzerland, its green and glamorous paradise in the canton of Valais; Jordan, which fascinates with its history and encourages adventure with the Jordan Trail; or even India with the colonial charm and contemporary art of Puducherry. There is also Italy, with this year the city of Genoa with its historical charm, its delicious cuisine and its “electric” future, with new sustainable means of transport.

Best in Travel 2025 is not a simple guide, it is a book to dream, through spectacular photographs, stories of unique experiences and valuable advice. Each destination has been carefully chosen for its beauty and richness, for the cultural experiences it offers, but also for its commitment to sustainability, community and diversity. Lonely Planet wants to encourage travelers to explore the world more consciously and to expand the spectrum of possible destinations to discover in the future, starting with next year, which is just around the corner.

The selection Best in Travel 2025 of Lonely Planet : the first 10 countries in the ranking

CAMEROON
Cameroon, which celebrates the 65e anniversary of its independence in 2025, is a country in full movement which offers various travel possibilities. From its beaches to West Africa’s highest mountains, from exuberant cities to vast virgin areas, Cameroon invites total involvement. Far from mass tourism, this country has deserted beaches, tropical forests and untouched nature.

Szymanski

LITHUANIA
The last pagan country in Europe to convert to Christianity and a former Soviet state paralyzed by decades of stagnation, Lithuania is today the home of choice for eco-creative Millennials. In its modern capital, Vilnius, with an ultra-lively cultural scene, although the past and traditions are respected and widely highlighted. Now that the nation is mobilizing for the city that will be the Green Capital of Europe in 2025, there is no better time to discover this land of pine trees, lakes and sand dunes on the edge of the Baltic Sea.
