Where to pee and at what cost during the Mons ducasse? We will explain everything to you !

There are obviously the traditional mobile public toilets which are free. They were installed in different locations around the city.

Concretely, these WCs are made up of toilets for ladies (and PMR) and urinals. Here’s where you can find them:

  • Rue de Nimy (court car park)
  • Youth hostel
  • Mirror Street
  • Rue de la Halle (opposite the bank)
  • Place du Marché-aux-Poulets (opposite Belgacom)
  • Grand’Place island
  • Government Street
  • Rue de la Coupe
  • Herb Market
  • Rue d’Enghien
  • New road
  • Rue de Houdain
  • Pawnshop – Jardin du Mayeur (Sunday)

But in addition to these public toilets, there are also the toilets of Horeca establishments in the city center. Most are accessible throughout the ducasse even if you do not consume in the bar. “There is an agreement between the majority of cafe owners on the Grand’Place,” confirms Jean-Louis Villanueva, representative of the Grand’Place traders. “Nearly 80% of businesses leave their toilets available to people. That seems logical to me. However, you have to pay to access it, you have to pay Madame Pipi who maintains the place. On average, it’s €0.50 per entry. »

Up to €350 fine

Ditto at Marché-aux-Herbes. It’s €0.50 to enter the toilets in the Latin Quarter. And right next to it, the Baromètre offers a bracelet for €5. With this, you have access to the café’s toilets for the entire ducasse.

In the Latin Quarter and Maxime's, beer will be €2.50.In the Latin Quarter and Maxime's, beer will be €2.50.

Will the price of beer increase during the Ducasse de Mons? “Life is difficult for everyone”

Be careful, however, that the price can go up to 1€. This is particularly the case in an establishment on rue de la Clef. But it’s still cheaper than the fine if you urinate on public roads or against property. It can go up to €350.
