Cinema and All Saints’ Day holidays: we take stock with Anthony de Freitas, the director of the Trianon de Mende

Anthony De Freitas, director of the Trianon in Mende, takes stock of cinema attendance since the start of the year and explains the upcoming program.

Where are you in terms of attendance since the start of the year?

We have just passed 50,000 entries. In 2023, we had 59,000 entries, so we will definitely do more this year, but the question is how far we will go.

How can this increase in the number of entries be explained?

The fourth room, inaugurated in May 2023, has had its effect. This year there were four rooms throughout the year, while in 2023 there were only these four rooms during the last six months of the year.

What are the films that have done the best since 1is January 2024?

A little something extra made 7,066 entries and the Counts of Monte Cristo made 3,537. Vice-versa 2 completes the podium with 3,114 entries.

What are you planning for the All Saints’ Day holidays?

Many animated films for children are on the program, such as the Wild Robot or Croquette, the wonderful cat for the youngest. On October 30, the biopic on Charles Aznavour will be released. For Love Phewwe organized a preview on Sunday October 13, with a live broadcast of the presentation of the film with the cast and crew of the film. Almost half the room was full. We are quite satisfied, especially for a sunny Sunday afternoon.

There will be something for everyone during the holidays

There will be something for everyone during these holidays. For Halloween, we would like to organize an event with the little ones around a short film, Mon Petit Halloween. We will tell them to come in disguise and we will distribute candy to them, before the candy hunt in their neighborhood!

We’re really looking forward to the holidays. Just, before it’s always calmer.

How many sessions will there be during the holidays?

We schedule four sessions every day, so we hope that attendance will be there. Of course, not all cartoons are Disney or Pixar, but for the Wild Robot for example, everyone who has gone to see it comes away delighted, the animation is very beautiful on the screen and it is very well rated on the internet.

And for the end of the year?

The Christmas holidays are our busiest period. There will be plenty to do, particularly with the release of the sequel to Gladiator or from Vaiana et Mufasatwo Disney.
