“Born and raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, Ka lived a life of service – to his city, to his community and to his music. A twenty-year veteran of the New York City Fire Department, he risked his life to protect his fellow citizens,” said the message, specifying that the deceased had been “one of the first responders on September 11, 2001 during the World Trade Center attacks.

A prolific career

The Parisian recalls that the rapper, who self-produced eleven solo albums, leaves an “extraordinary (musical) legacy”; and that he had been, in the early 1990s, a member of the New York rap group Natural Elements then of the duo Nightbreed, with the late Kev (who died in a road accident in 2015).
