This is particularly the case of the lantern parade which will be held on 1is December 2024 in the historic center of Dinan (Côtes-d’Armor), and the Solidarity tavern4e edition on Saturday December 14, 2024 on Place Duguesclin.

New things

The lantern paradethe day after the inauguration of the Christmas lights, is a new joint initiative between the culture department and the Atelier du 5bis.

“We wanted to increase the number of demonstrations during this period. »

Joëlle Le Guiffant, culture assistant

The City called on the company of grinders, an association from Lanvollon, near Paimpol (Côtes-d’Armor), to prepare a unique parade through the medieval city.

“To encourage the participation of as many people as possible from Dinan, we organize lantern-making workshops. »

Alain Le Cœur, from Atelier du 5bis

These workshops are open for free for families and children aged 14 and over. Each person who registers agrees to participate in two three-hour workshops each.

Manufacturing workshops

Six hours is the time needed to making a lantern under the guidance of two artists from Grinders. The first part is devoted to the manufacture of a wicker structure and the second to gluing the paper and decoration of the lantern.

Two series of workshops are scheduled: the first of October 25 to 27, 2024, during school holidays, at the Salle de la Source, and the second November 16, 17 and 23 in the premises of 5bis.

“Participants must commit to participating in the two workshops and then in the parade,” insists Stéphanie Meneux, head of the culture department.

The famous paradethe true apotheosis of the operation, will take place on Sunday 1is December. Participants are expected at 5bis at 4:30 p.m. to collect their lantern.

Then, the procession accompanied by the fanfares of the COB (Saint-Brieuc) and Motix (Dinan) will take charge of theEsplanade de la Résistance by taking a route through the historic center.

Parade of 100 lanterns

A hundred lanterns is expected. “The Rémouleurs company is accustomed to these events,” continues Joëlle Le Guiffant, specifying that last year, a wandering took place in the streets of Saint-Brieuc with more than 300 participants.

Furthermore, the fourth edition of the Solidarity tavern will take place on Saturday December 14 at Place Du Guesclin. This event brings together a significant number of partners, which involves a long preparation. The first workshop recently took place atESAT of the four valleysin Corseul.

He is the painter Jérémy Ca who got the ball rolling. Unlike the 2023 edition, the participatory fresco will be prepared in advance and installed under the marquee behind the choir, and no longer “in situ”.

Choir and barrel organ at the Guinguette

Another must-see at La Guinguette: the choir directed by Sophie Luzeaccompanied by his barrel organ. This year, the Kiosk musicians join the party. A first…

“This year, new partners joined us from municipalities in the metropolitan area. We want to allow audiences who will not be able to travel to become real actors of the Guinguette. »

Faustine Vasse, volunteer involved in this adventure

The workshops will therefore travel to certain EHPAD, DO (Medical Educational Institute).

Of course, the “classics” like the pompoms or the pastry shop are already registered and theSolidarity space will be widely used.

As in previous years, the event will be financially supported. While waiting for the Fondation de , Faustine Vasse cites Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne, the City of Dinan and Dinan Agglomération.

“These implications are proof of the commitment of our politicians to the process”
