For four days, Luanda vibrated to the rhythm of jazz for the third edition of the Angojazz international festival, which took place from October 10 to 13, 2024. An event that has become unmissable for fans of the genre.

Organized by Angolan pianist Dimbu Makiese, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the Alliance Française, the festival welcomed musicians from Germany, Belgium, , Portugal, Cuba and Venezuela.

At the Palacio de Ferro, an emblematic place in the Angolan capital, the crowd was able to attend intense musical performances. Among the invited artists were Miguelito (Cuba), the Edith Calas Trio (France), and Gonçalo Marques (Portugal), alongside big names in Angolan jazz like Filipe Mukenga.

In addition to the concerts, free workshops allowed local artists to share knowledge and strengthen their skills. “The objective is to transmit the passion for jazz to younger generations,” underlined Dimbu Makiese. The festival also paid tribute to Jeronimo Belo, pioneer of jazz in Angola.
