Pierre Aynié, aka Franck Saint-Pierre, has always navigated between music and cinema. This spring, he joined film sets in Spain.

In March, in the Espalioux room, he played the drums alongside the talented young saxophonist Rayan, from the group Rayan Sax and Co, thus sacrificing one of his passions, music. But Pierre Aynié, alias Franck Saint-Pierre, the stage name he chose when he started, also has a passion for cinema. He has also made appearances in numerous films, as a stuntman, or alongside horses: “There have always been horses in the family. My father was an accomplished horseman. He passed on his passion to us,” underlines this jack-of-all-trades artist.

“A film noir, an action film”

From now on, he’s returning to the big screen: “I’m going to Spain for a few days, on a shoot where I’m going to play a mafia godfather,” he smiles. Pierre Aynié, it’s certain, can play off his cinema physique, between the rebellious biker from Sons of Anarchy and the buccaneer that we would see in “Pirates of the Caribbean”. For the occasion, Franck Saint-Pierre is starring in “Las tros pasos de la rubia platino” (In the footsteps of the platinum blonde), a Spanish film by Eduardo Castejon and David V. Muro, whose filming takes place in Villaviciosa, Asturias. “It’s a film noir, an action film,” comments Pierre Aynié, who admits, modestly, to playing “a very small role”. But the Appamean does not shy away from his pleasure. He has maintained close ties with the world of cinema, with whom he has crossed paths on many occasions. He also played a small role in “Buscando a rufo”, which still has Eduardo Castejon in the cast, released in 2020. The film tells the story of Rufo, a stray dog, and his best friend, Andrés, father family and owner of the city’s animal shelter. Pierre Aynié does not hate castings. And he even produces a short video where he introduces himself in Spanish.
That leaves music, his other passion. The latest news from Franck Saint-Pierre is this beautiful meeting with Rayan, at the chance of a performance by the young artist.

Johnny in Spanish

It was in a bar-restaurant in the old center. “Pierre came to see [Rayan] perform at Tuga in Pamiers. He’s a fan of Johnny Hallyday. As they were going to perform “That I Love You,” he got up and wanted to perform it in Spanish. It was wonderful. He continued to follow them for a while before taking the plunge and slipping into the group,” explained Rayan’s father, Richard, in our columns last February. Franck Saint-Pierre, with a long career in numerous orchestras, is not about to leave the stage.
