Eurovision 2024: Italian television mistakenly reveals the percentage of votes for the semi-final

What did Mustii lack to reach the final?

”I think nothing was missing, everything was there. The song was great and so was the set design. Afterwards, we are not in the minds of the people who vote. Maybe it was decided by a thousandth of a point, we don’t have the details of the votes. Or part of luck… I think we deserved a ticket, I’m disappointed. And when I see the comments from people who followed the semi-final, they are too. There is a real misunderstanding, but we are good losers. I want to say: no regrets. We have nothing to be ashamed of, he gave a great performance. Mustii has a great career and he will always have it despite this.”

Did you have the opportunity to talk about it with him?

”This Friday morning, we didn’t see him. But he is well surrounded and he has a good head and shoulders of course. He’s definitely disappointed but that’s part of the Eurovision experience. It was also a lot of pressure since they had been there for almost two weeks. You have to have a mind of steel, which he had. He deserves a little rest.”

What’s next for Jean-Louis Lahaye and you, is it the final?

”The show must go on. We will rise from our ashes to give everything for the grand final which remains a great American show. We both love Eurovision. Of course, it’s nicer when Belgium stays in the race. There are some great things happening this Saturday, with some crazy artists, the return of Loreen, last year’s winner, and a surprise prepared by Abba since it’s the 50th anniversary of their victory with ‘Waterloo’. ”
