Fanny Pagès, who arrived at L’Astrada in January 2018, has announced her departure next August. The Marciac performance hall is therefore looking for its new direction. Four candidates have already been pre-selected.

Fanny Pagès will experience Jazz in Marciac one last time this summer, then will leave Gascony for new horizons. Director of Astrada since January 2018, she has in fact announced her departure next August, after the festival. The director notably received, in 2019, a Victoire du Jazz as best programmer of the year and celebrated the 10th anniversary of the performance hall in 2021.

For the 10th anniversary of Astrada, Fanny Pagès had concocted a varied and current program.

The board of directors of the Public Establishment for Cultural Cooperation (EPCC), chaired by Muriel Abadie, has therefore launched the recruitment procedure for its new management. The call for applications was published in “Télérama”, “Lettre du spectacle”, “Profilculture” and on the Astrada website.

Four shortlisted candidates

Fourteen applications were received and four have already been pre-selected: Sylvain Depée, programming director of the Les Bains Douches current music scene (Cher), Victoria Larrain, cultural attaché at the French Institute of Chile, Bernard Mouchon, music programmer at the Theater auditorium of Poitiers and Angèle Picgirard, advisor/manager of cultural projects at Occitanie en Scène.

These candidates therefore proceed to the rest of the recruitment process: they must now write an establishment project of around twenty pages to identify the objectives, means and perspectives that they wish to implement at Astrada. The auditions of the candidates will take place on Wednesday, June 5 and, in the days that follow, the board of directors will propose a candidate for appointment to the president of the EPCC, Muriel Abadie.
