“We filmed for three weeks with volunteers from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. with few resources, editing lasted three months and we have broadcast one episode per week on YouTube since March 22. We hope to have as many views as possible and many subscribers on social networks because I already have ideas for a season 2 with an even more bizarre side”, says Damien Taunay, alias Camille Azény, who wrote the screenplay for ” The method “. This humorous web series with an offbeat tone talks about an experimental program, offered to three imprisoned people (a director of a nursing home, a radical environmentalist and a sectarian guru) to allow them, after final examination, to be reintegrated into society without serving their sentence.

Camille Azény worked with Philippe Lefebvre (who plays the director of Ehpad), actor and director of the company Le Tacot, as well as local actors (Denis Roland, Mathieu Perodeau and Cécilia Bongiovanni). In addition, Noa Martinet, a student at Merleau-Ponty high school in cinema option, managed the technical part (image and sound).

Entertain and professionalize

“The objective is to entertain the public with characters who are a little broken, out of line, with whom we can identify and for whom we can feel sympathy. I was inspired by Kaamelott because I am a big fan of Alexandre Astier. It’s good-natured and for all audiences,” explains Camille Azény before adding: “For these ten episodes, we had a budget of around 4,000 euros, thanks to an online prize pool and a donor, but the idea would be to professionalize to have more weight and offer the series to producers.”

Originally from Tonnay-Boutonne, Camille Azény is the author of detective novels set in particular in Rochefort. A new book will be released this summer around the story of the sinking of “L’Essor” in Oléron. He is also working on a theater play project with the company Le Tacot which he hopes to offer by the end of 2024.
