The Conques-sur-Orbiel photo club was founded in 1964, at the initiative of Claude Bonnafous. He makes a point of perpetuating black and white film photography. The club is celebrating its 60th anniversary. This year, the opening of its 54th exhibition will take place on October 5 at 6 p.m., in the Salle des Oliviers of the Town Hall of Conques-sur-Orbiel.

Over the years, the number of its members increases or remains stable. Despite the Covid-related break, activities have resumed and new members have joined the team. They follow photo training provided by members of the club (development of film, contact sheets and photo prints).

Currently, the club has 20 active members who meet every month in the room adjoining their photo laboratory, made available by the municipality to discuss their practices, exhibitions not to be missed, and technique (depth of field, speed, aperture, pause time, filters, etc.). The club organizes themed evenings. These meetings are always accompanied by friendly moments around a snack or meal.

Several outings are planned for this year 2024, such as a night outing at the capitelles on July 20, the Arles meetings on July 8 and 9, Visa pour l’Image in September and many others.
