Viewers will be over the moon to discover today the new project that author Luc Dionne will be proposing on Radio-Canada next fall. This Wednesday, the media were invited to a press meeting to discover the ins and outs of this project which promises to be particularly eye-catching. After the neighborhood police in District 31, the author this time turns to private security firms.

The series will be named Dumas, referring to the main character named Jean Dumas. Who will we find in this role? Our valiant Commander Chiasson, the actor Gildor Roy, who thus reconnects with the author Luc Dionne.

I have a lot of pleasure writing this, I rediscover the pleasure of Omerta.

This is a sentence thrown out by the screenwriter during the media unveiling of the series. This will indeed plunge into a universe related to that of District 31 And Omerta, while investigations will be carried out where the police cannot go. The story will also be punctuated by a family drama, while we will follow the character of Gildor Roy with his family, a father role which will perhaps not be brilliant.

In its first year, the series offers 24 episodes of 60 minutes.

The synopsis is described as follows by Luc Dionne:

It is commonly accepted that criminal acts primarily concern existing institutions: police forces, prosecutors and courts. In police offices, we like to say that “every crime finds its investigators”. But what happens when the actions of which certain people are accused go well beyond the scope of the police force? The police are not responsible for investigating marital infidelity or CSST service providers working undeclared. This is where private security firms come in.

Nearly 30 years ago, Jean Dumas started his small business: Intelco. Over the years, minor investigations gave way to much more complex cases: theft of intellectual property, industrial espionage, embezzlement, money laundering… To carry out these missions, Dumas surrounded himself with a team of experienced investigators from law enforcement. They accept mandates clearly defined by rigorous contracts, in accordance with the law. The family business has thus become one of the most important investigation firms in the country.

However, Jean Dumas is faced with a serious problem: his family. His ex-wife (Isabel Richer) interferes in his affairs, his own son (Jason Roy-Léveillé), employed at Intelco, threatens to join its main competitor, and his daughter (Jade Charbonneau), who has been missing for two years, reappears. with his share of personal problems. Dumas tries by all means to reconcile his personal life with his professional life. He will also quickly understand that he has more enemies than he imagined…

The cast will consist of Jason Roy-Léveillé, Isabel Richer, Vincent Leclerc, Marie-Lyne Joncas, David Bélizaire, Jade Charbonneau, Lili Francke-Robitaille and Catherine-Anne Toupin to which will be added several other actors in secondary roles.

Director Stéphan Beaudoin indicated at a press conference:

This is Luc Dionne at its best!

For his part, the actor Gildor Roy was ecstatic about the mixed universe in which he found himself: “ It’s just gray area. It’s gray in Tabarnouche! » We are promised a character a thousand miles from Commander Chiasson.

Filming is scheduled to begin on May 21.

Dumas, the new series by Luc Dionne to be discovered in the fall on ICI TÉLÉ. Are you as excited as we are?
