“The Laws of Gravity” by Jean Teulé brings Corinne Jacquet and Mira Simova to the Pavé, starting Tuesday, for three performances.

In three hours, Lieutenant Pontoise will be able to leave his post, but a woman enters the deserted police station and asks to be arrested. Ten years earlier, she pushed her husband out of the window of their eleventh-floor apartment. He beat her and her children. She claimed it was suicide and everyone believed her. She wants to denounce herself before midnight, because she has remorse, and the next day her crime will be time-barred…

Based on a novel by Jean Teulé

“The Laws of Gravity gives us the opportunity to defend a strong story, dealing with essential subjects: domestic violence, the status of
victim, the relationship with the law, the degradation of judicial and police institutions, the values of empathy, freedom…”, explain Mira Simova and Corinne Jacquet who play, direct and adapt this intense text by Jean Teulé. “Written for two men and a woman, we chose to adapt the novel to the stage by giving a female face to Lieutenant Pontoise. Our wish is to give substance to these two women, to defend their humanity and their complexity, their courage and their truth.”
This play brings together two actresses who always bring a complement of soul to their roles. Corinne Jacquet headed Cie Bille en Tête for a long time and Mira Simova distinguished herself in “23-F side portlot”, inspired by her departure from Bulgaria. They are now united in the Cie L’Audacieuse.

From May 14 to 16 at 8:30 p.m., at the Théâtre du Pavé (34, rue Maran) in Toulouse. Prices: €6.5 to €20. Such. 05 62 26 43 66. www.theatredupave.org
