Cali, how did you choose the artists who accompany you in “20 Years of Perfect Love?” »
“These are artists I listened to when I was a teenager, some have become friends. I wanted to choose people who have experienced something, who have a story. I let the songs choose their performers… For example, I heard the voice of Francis Cabrel on “C’est quoi le bonheur?”. The artists I invited on this album came to celebrate the anniversary of my first album with me.
Tell us about the creation of the album…
“I consider “20 Years of Perfect Love” to be my four-leaf clover album. The new album was arranged completely differently. I didn’t listen to the first album again before I started recording, I really consider “20 Years of Perfect Love” to be a new album. My daughter Coco even participated in the creation.”
And what will your concert be like on Friday?
“It’s been a while since I’ve been to Brest. I’m doing the last dates of a piano-voice tour that we started in November. I play in a duo either with Steve Nieve or with Augustin Charnet on the piano. Brest is one of the last dates before we start a rock tour, but the piano-vocal concerts are just as energetic. In this kind of concert, there is no fourth wall, the audience can intervene at any time.”
Do you have a memorable memory from one of your concerts in Brest?
“I did around twenty dates in Brest, I have lots of good memories here! In July 2022, I played on the Grand Large stage during Jeudis du port, it was great… But my most memorable memory remains the three concerts I did at the Vauban, the audience was great, we could no longer distinguish day and night! “.
