After exhibiting her photographic work there just two years ago, Anyvonne Grisot is presenting part of her personal collection of works by her husband, Eugène Begarat, at the Terre-Marine space, in Trégunc, until November 2. An exhibition entitled “Tea time”, as this time of day is considered, by these two internationally renowned artists based near Concarneau after having lived for a long time in Provence, as the most favorable for photography and painting. In his very colorful oils on canvas, many of which are inspired by Anyvonne, his “favorite model”, the painter seeks light by attaching great importance to its intensity, its shape and its color.

An immoderate passion for nature

The characters and nature, to which the couple also devotes such an immoderate passion to the point of having created several remarkable gardens, are in perpetual movement. Many of these paintings were painted within these hectares where their green hands also worked wonders. “We could have our models pose without being bored and thus choose the environment, the foliage,” says Anyvonne Grisot. A fan of figuration, “because there are already a plethora of boats and beaches”, Eugène Begarat exhibits very little and is represented by galleries, in and abroad. “I agreed to show my work in Trégunc out of friendship and because the room showcases my paintings. We would like to find other inspiring places in the region,” confides the painter.

Practical
