“It’s symbolic”, the Scratch Shack inaugurates its new totem at Place André Meunier

“When I was told about it, I didn’t imagine at all what it was going to look like. Now that he’s here, I find him really great,” says a passerby. The three-meter-high wooden structure consists of four facets, strewn with decorated tiles. For their first project, architect Laura Chevalier and ceramist Hugo Gomez (DTR workshop), winners of the call for projects launched by the association, combined their different areas of expertise to create a participatory work.

“Leave a trace”

More than twenty workshops have been organized since March during which passers-by, children, residents of the square and users of the Cabin took turns to decorate the tiles. There are 260 of them, designed in a brickworks, the Grès Médocain in Listrac-Médoc, decorated with silt from the Dordogne and fired, for a rust-colored enameled finish.
