Lhe 33rd edition of the Doha International Book Fair will take place from May 9 to 18, with the participation of 42 countries, including Morocco.

During this Fair organized under the theme “Knowledge builds civilizations”, Morocco will be represented by several publishing houses and the pavilion of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, alongside 515 publishing houses. edition of Arab and foreign countries.

The Sultanate of Oman will be the guest of honor of this edition and will participate through a pavilion and a diversified cultural program highlighting the authentic heritage and intellectual and literary productions of the country, in addition to folkloric shows and artistic, indicates in a press release the Qatari Ministry of Culture.

In a statement to the press, Deputy Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the ministry, Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali, stressed that the large influx of local, Arab and foreign publishing houses to participate in this fair denotes the cultural place and intellectual of choice of the Salon on a regional and international scale and consolidates its pioneering role in supporting creativity and promoting literary production.

The Salon, he said, is now a place unifying various cultural genres and an interactive platform for the exchange of knowledge, expertise and informed opinions, in addition to promoting reading, publishing and creation.

In this context, he welcomed the choice of theme chosen for this edition which reflects the concern of the Ministry of Culture to strengthen efforts to disseminate knowledge and creativity, as fundamental pillars in the building of civilizations.

The main stage of the Salon will host a variety of seminars, lectures and poetry evenings, in addition to the theatrical play “Caracalla” from Lebanon and a daily play organized by the Center for Theater Affairs.

Activities for children will also be a focus, with the ‘Children’s Oasis’ offering a range of engaging and educational activities to spark creativity and a love of learning in young minds.

The cultural fair will also host literary and intellectual sessions which will open the windows of cognitive dialogue between the author and the reader, in addition to book signing ceremonies.
