A year and a half ago, a funny video caught our attention: a cover of one of the famous songs of the diva Oumou Sangaré, Saa Magni, performed by a white woman, visibly French, but singing in impeccable Bambara and filmed in Bamako with an acolyte no less white than herself. Their names? Manu Sissoko and Vincent Lassalle… Enough to make you want to investigate. Especially since the video has been seen by more than a million Internet users even though the singer is a complete unknown.
