The Flav Lab research laboratory at INP Labège, which promotes the aromas and perfumes of Occitania, is gearing up for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Always on the lookout for news, the Flav Lab of the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, created in 2017, has been working since the beginning of 2024 on several actions geared towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games via, of course, scents and perfumes . Under the direction of Thierry Talou, research engineer, who leads several teams of students, this laboratory is not idle: “In order to highlight the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, our teams, including Loula Sabate and Mouna Matuszkiewicz, have launched several initiatives on scents For example, on the occasion of the Fascination of Plants Day on May 22, an event which takes place every two years to promote plants, the Flav Lab offers a module of five round tables symbolizing the five Olympic rings and the five continents illustrated by five plants, flowers, essential oils and seeds from these different continents: Oceania (eucalyptus), Europe (violet in a nod to Toulouse), Asia (jasmine), America (coffee tree) and Africa (banana tree )”.
Hoping that the weather is good, all these scents will be discovered by the public and students on the outdoor campus of INP Toulouse in Labège. As part of this operation on May 22, a tasting of five syrups will also be offered illustrating the five colors of the Olympic rings (blue, black, red, yellow and green) whose flag will fly on the site.
Two perfumes created for the 2024 Olympics
“We also created by 3D printing, an exact replica of the Olympic flame, which will also be presented during Fascination Day on May 22, while the original flame will be carried to Muret on May 17 by Aurianne Devallière, student at the Ensiacet in Toulouse, one of the INP schools” explains Thierry Talou. Disabled following a diving accident, this young woman was selected by Coca-Cola, official sponsor of the Torch Relay.
Finally, without revealing too much yet, the Flav Lab teams are preparing two perfumes called Olympics’24, one illustrating the Olympics, the other the Paris 2024 Para-Olympic Games. Two perfumes finalized and presented at the beginning of July, just before the D-day of the Olympics. As we can see, the Flav Lab definitely has no shortage of ideas.
