From Tarascon, where he was born, Lozère where he grew up, Andalusia where he observed birds, until his discovery of the Thau basin at the age of 25, everything led Patrice to commitment.

The Tarascon native was born in 1978. At 15, the family moved to the countryside and the teenager discovered mushroom picking and fishing.

All his vacations in Lozère accentuate Patrice’s love for nature, his desire to spend his life understanding and caring for the environment.

After a first life dedicated to birds and botany all over the world, Patrice fell in love with the Thau ponds and what happens in them… He trained at the Lycée de la Mer in Sète.

After looking at the sky and the birds, you find yourself with your head in the water with shells. At 28, he set up as a shellfish farmer in Frontignan. And it’s the beginning of a great passion.

Very quickly he said to himself that we must carry the path of this corporation which culturally does not speak and never complains. He joined the Hérault young farmers’ union.

In 2013, he was elected to the Chamber of Agriculture. And 5 years later, in 2018, he launched the election for the presidency of the Mediterranean Shellfish Farming Committee.

Now in the middle of his second term, he is taking stock. One thing is certain: the passion is still there..
