The Financial Times reported Tuesday that Pink Floyd had agreed to sell their music rights, including their most popular songs, to Sony Group for around $400 million.

According to the British newspaper, the agreement includes the name of the group and the image rights of its members, which will allow Sony to sell related products and produce films and television programs.

The English rock band will retain the rights to its compositions, even if it sells the rights to its recorded music to Sony.

Pink Floyd is known for hits such as The Dark Side of The Moon (1973) et The Wall (1979). In 2022, the band released a new song for the first time in 28 years as a message of support for Ukraine.

Sony also acquired the rights to the music catalogs of American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and rocker Bruce Springsteen.
