The Paris prosecutor’s office has just announced that Gérard Depardieu will be tried in October 2024 for sexual assault
“At the end of his police custody at the 3rd judicial police district, Gérard Depardieu was given a summons to appear before the criminal court (…) for sexual assaults likely to have been committed in September 2021 to the prejudice of two victims, on the set of the film +The Green Shutters+”, specified the prosecution.

He is no longer held in the police station,” One of his lawyers, Christian Saint-Palais, told the press shortly before 6:30 p.m., who was leaving the police station. “When a person is implicated, inevitably, there is a moment when they have to explain themselves. And so today was one of those days where we have to explain the accusations made against you and that you contest”, added Me Saint-Palais, deploring the leaks to the press.

Indictment, investigation, complaints… Other cases that concern Gérard Depardieu
Gérard Depardieu has been indicted since December 2020 for rape and sexual assault on actress Charlotte Arnould, who denounced two rapes at the end of August 2018. Another investigation was opened after the complaint of a film assistant who accused her of sexual assault in 2014. Another complaint for sexual assault was filed by the actress Hélène Darras for facts dating back to 2007. Finally, Ruth Baza filed a complaint at the end of 2023 with the Spanish police for a rape which allegedly took place in October 1995 in Paris.

A former film assistant filed a complaint for facts dating back to March 2014, during the filming of the film The Magicians and the Siamese by Jean-Pierre Mocky. The complaint was filed on January 9, 2024 in a Paris police station for “sexual assault on a vulnerable person by a person abusing the authority of their position”. The complainant, aged 24 at the time of the incident, wishes to remain anonymous.

An investigation was opened after a complaint from a decorator accusing Gérard Depardieu of having sexually assaulted her during the filming of the film “Green Shutters” by Jean Becker in 2021, the Paris prosecutor’s office said in early March. The complainant, named Amélie and aged 53, sent a complaint to the Paris prosecutor’s office on February 23. She denounces acts of sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexist outrages committed by Gérard Depardieu during the filming of the film “Les Volets Verts”, directed by Jean Becker, on which she was production designer.
