Bookable this Friday, April 27, from 12 p.m., tickets for Sinclar should not remain free for long, while the DJ-star with an international career is giving one of his rare dates on June 19, for the passage of the flame in (the last time was in 2021, at Bokao’s nightclub). “It is a global event, which will mark memories“, did not hesitate to predict Dominique Santoni, president of the Department, posing, t-shirt flocked with a photo of the DJ, alongside the mayor of Avignon. Department and town hall share 50% of the costs of this concert , whose overall budget reaches €190,000.

Bob Sinclar is an intergenerational artist, extremely communicative, who inspires and unites“, summarize the two elected officials. In the first part, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Vaucluse DJ Meloko (real name Guillaume Heredia), originally from Bédoin, will perform, mixing techno and deep house.

Scheduled for a time at the Place du Palais des Papes, before being moved to the Allée de l’Oulle esplanade (for security and gauge reasons), the event is being prepared in an XXL version, with up to 10 000 spectators between the Remparts and the banks of the Rhône. The organization was entrusted to the events agency Effervescence, based in Avignon and specialized in the preparation of contemporary music concerts. It plans to hire around a hundred professionals – entertainment technicians, ticket agents – half of whom, around fifty, will ensure security.

Up to two tickets per booking

To better anticipate attendance and manage the gauge, and Department require you to reserve your entries in advance, via the mobile application or the Shotgun website: simply enter your contact details, select the desired number of places (up to two per person), and to present themselves, on the big day, at the entrance to the site, with the QR code provided.

For this first wave, 3,333 places are available for reservation. Two additional sessions will follow between now and June 19, for 10,000 tickets available in total.

Traffic conditions on D-Day will be specified later, but it has already been established that the Allée de l’Oulle car park will be closed to vehicles from Monday 17, i.e. two days before the passage of the flame. Those on Piot Island and the Italians will remain accessible.

The alleys of Oulle will also be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. in the direction Le Pontet-Courtine, then, from 2 p.m., in both directions: the left bank of the Rhône will be entirely pedestrianized. To make travel more fluid, transport will be free in Greater Avignon, on the Orizo network, and the Department has asked the Region to set up additional TER trains that day.
