Let’s go for three days of celebration, in Alès, around gypsy cultures
Descriptive text here

From this Friday April 26 to Sunday April 28, the Théâtre du Cratère is organizing three days of activities, meetings and shows around Gypsy cultures.

It is a moment awaited by the gypsy communities of Alès, but also by a public keen to better understand the arts and traditions of those we call Travelers. From this Friday to Sunday, the Théâtre du Cratère is organizing a range of activities and shows in synergy with the Alesian gypsy community. From this Friday, April 26, the program promises to be rich and varied.

A program with multiple meanings

In addition to the entertainment provided by the Muzikologik Workshops (12 p.m.) and music by Payou and the New Flamenco (8:30 p.m.), on the square and in the Cratère hall, the next room will host this Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m., the company La chouette blanche will perform the piece Pink. This creation relates the chance meeting, and the relationship that is established between three characters from different worlds: a gypsy housekeeper, an actor of Romanian origins and a director overwhelmed by her immersion in a working-class neighborhood. Between the informal discussions on a bench, the cigarettes smoked in secret, it is their real story that is played out here. But, just before, in the hall of the Cratère, an exhibition of traditional gypsy and flamenco dresses will adorn the building, while at 8:30 p.m., in the large hall of the Cratère, the dancer Eva Luisa will vibrate to “the cante” with a form of trance that reveals his unpredictable and wild nature.
