High school student arrested for threatening to kill his teacher indicted

The 17-year-old high school student arrested and placed in police custody in the Nantes region, following threats he made on the social network Telegram against a teacher at his high school, has been charged and placed in pre-trial detention, BFMTV learned this Friday, September 13.

According to a police source, the young man simulated shooting with a weapon in his high school while handing in an assignment on Wednesday. “The teacher having reprimanded this student following this inappropriate behavior, he has apologized,” the Nantes Academy said in a statement.

That same evening, the student posted messages on Telegram from death threats indicating that he wanted to stab his teacher, according to the police source.

Two knives and a Daesh flag

The Rèze gendarmes arrested him the next day. Two knives and a Daesh flag were found during a search.

An initial analysis of his digital and telephone tools made it possible to find communications on Tiktok and Telegram in which he broadcasts violent actions by the Islamic State.

The investigation was entrusted to the anti-terrorism group of the interdepartmental service of the judicial police in Nantes.
