The image is breathtaking. This Thursday, September 12, lightning struck a tree in the Montparnasse cemetery in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. A phenomenon that must have woken up the tenants of the place, among whom are Simone de Beauvoir, Serge Gainsbourg, Jean-Paul Sartre and the former President of the Republic, Jacques Chirac.

Above all, the image of the phenomenon was captured by the former journalist Pascal Guénée who was near the place at the time of the impact, sharing these impressive images on the social network X.

A tree targeted despite the proximity of the Montparnasse tower
