Nolwenn Leroy applauds the name change of the Abbé Pierre foundation

Sexual assaults – The singer and patron of the association feels “helpless” after the salvo of accusations of sexual abuse committed by the cleric

Nolwenn Leroy feels “more than ever” close to the Abbé Pierre Foundation, of which she has been the patron since 2006. The singer spoke yesterday about the decisions of the association working for housing for the most disadvantaged after the revelations made public this summer in reports by the foundation and Emmaüs about sexual assaults committed by Abbé Pierre, whose real name is Henri Grouès. Returning to the shock of these discoveries, the star said she was “distraught” and welcomed the foundation’s decision to change its name, as announced last week.

“I find the way the foundation has communicated in recent days admirable,” Nolwenn Leroy told France Inter. “The fact of recognizing what the victims have been through, of hearing the victims. I think they have made all the right decisions.”
