The best in the emergency room at Ballanger hospital in Aulnay-sous-!

Fifteen to thirty minutes wait in Aulnay

The emergency lottery sometimes offers more comfortable scenarios. This is evidenced by the empty seats at those of the Robert-Ballanger hospital in Aulnay-sous-, Thursday January 16. Patients who come to reception wait fifteen to thirty minutes before being seen by the reception and orientation nurse (IAO). “It’s relatively quick,” judges Michelle, who lists her symptoms: headaches, body aches, fever. The flu? That’s what she assumes. “I wanted to see my GP but he is not consulting today. »

Same satisfaction for Ruth, who came to have her teenager’s lungs checked. “We arrived at 3 p.m., and at 7 p.m. I was already at the pharmacy,” she is surprised. And he had all the exams: chest x-ray, PCR test, blood test. »

“There was no one there!” » Sarah bluntly says. This young mother is a regular at the emergency rooms of the Robert-Ballanger hospital which, with 70,000 visits per year, are the busiest in the department behind those of the Delafontaine hospital in Saint-Denis. This time, her 23-month-old daughter showed symptoms of laryngitis. “We arrived at 3:30 a.m., they gave her an aerosol treatment then kept her for four hours for observation,” she explains. In children, it goes quickly. »

After a succession of crises in recent years, Ballanger’s emergency room was renovated last year. “It’s improving because the organization is different,” explains Sonia Doysié, Sud Santé union representative. We are not yet at the top but we are less short of emergency staff than at one time. The big problem remains the lack of beds in downstream services. »
