Faced with the flu epidemic, a flu vaccination center opened its doors on Tuesday in Nancy in Meurthe-et-Moselle. It will be open to over 65s and people at risk.
The flu epidemic continues to circulate “intensely” in the territory, warns the Ministry of Health. The government calls for “great vigilance” and to get vaccinated, ensuring that there will be enough doses until the end of January.

Faced with the influx of patients, around a hundred hospitals have already activated their “white plan”. In Nancy, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, the city and the health authorities opened a free vaccination center on Tuesday to encourage elderly and fragile people to protect themselves from the flu.
“I decided to come and get vaccinated”
In this vaccination center, it feels like we have returned to the times of Covid. Under two white tents, nurses wearing masks welcome a few dozen patients per hour. This is the first time that Nadine, 72, has been vaccinated against the flu. “A lot of people tell us they have the flu. [Pendant] 15 days, three weeks, they didn’t go well and I started to get a little apprehensive. [Je n’ai] I don’t want to end up in the hospital! We will say that it is not good, that I could have been vaccinated before but there you go. Today, I decided to come and get vaccinated,” she confides.

“Less than half of the target population today is vaccinated”
Thierry Pechey, head of the center, encourages those over 65 and vulnerable people to be vaccinated as quickly as possible. “We have not yet reached the epidemic peak, so there is still an increase in the virus, with people ending up in hospital, particularly in emergency rooms where it is complicated. Less than half of the target population today is vaccinated. It has never been so bad.
The center is open until Sunday. At the same time, a “vaccibus” circulates in Nancy and its surroundings to go directly to nursing homes and senior residences.
