He was at the end of his cycle. The ARS has decided to renew the radiotherapy authorization in the Ardennes, to meet the needs of the department with more modern equipment. The current radiotherapy accelerator installed at the Parc clinic in Charleville must be replaced. Among the applications received, the Godinot Institute, the cancer center in , was selected. The authorization will come into force on January 15, 2025 and for seven years.

In a press release, the ARS Grand Est specifies:

“The time it takes to replace the current device, due to its obsolescence, will result in patients being directed to the nearest radiotherapy sites, particularly those in Reims. This situation had already arisen in 2009 during the previous replacement , and the Agency is mobilized, in conjunction with professional communities, so that patients continue to benefit from all the necessary guidance and support.

The Godinot Institute is committed to putting in place the necessary means to guarantee the continuity of treatments while respecting patient choice. A specific system will also be offered for the most complex cases. The treatments of patients currently initiated will obviously be continued, their referring radiotherapists ensuring their treatments and guidance.
