A training session on early detection of breast cancer was launched on Thursday by the Blida cancer hospital for the benefit of general practitioners, with the aim of contributing to the detection of this disease at early stages. , making it possible to reduce the incidence of difficult cases.

Dr. Bounedjar, also head of the oncology department at the Blida cancer hospital, affirmed that breast cancer has become “the only cancer whose cure rate is 97%, in the event of early detection.
A fact that he considered “positive”, because the cure rate is 30 to 40% in the event of detection of the disease at its 3rd or 4th stage, “hence the importance of the training of the general practitioner in early detection of breast cancer, in its capacity as an essential link in the health system for early detection of this type of cancer,” underlined the same official.
This training session coinciding with the end of the month of Pink October, dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, “aims to make awareness effective throughout the year because the general practitioner is at the basis of breast cancer screening. this cancer,” he added. Mr. Bounedjar also announced that the month of November will be dedicated to raising awareness of prostate cancer.
Note that the Pink October 2024 campaign, launched by the Blida cancer hospital, enabled the examination of 336 women and the psychological care of more than 600 others, according to figures provided by the organizers.
