Grand Besançon at the forefront of health innovation

Legacy of its watchmaking past and its precision, Greater Besançon is a territory recognized for work in the infinitely small. This unique know-how has been transposed into the world of health and is taught to the younger generation, who have been offered ideal learning and research conditions. Three new projects are emerging soon to maintain this excellence in the medicine of the future.

Isifc continues its development with a new school

Located on the Bouloie-Temis campus, this university engineering school specializes in medical devices and biomedicines.

Since 2001, it has trained around fifty engineers each year who work in different fields: from the development to the implantation of medical devices (breast implants, stents, hip prostheses), from assisting doctors in the operating room using robots. medical research on biomedicines. Located on rue Alain Savary on the Bouloie-Temis campus, it was very cramped in its historic premises. At the end of the year, it will move to a new building, avenue de l’observatoire, larger, more modern, more suited to the ambitions of the school and the needs for engineers in this field.

Preview guided tour with Victor, a second-year student, who is impatient to integrate this new working environment that is both modern and innovative.

Tailor-made premises

« We are currently in classes of 50 students. The amphitheater in the new building, modern and modular, has a capacity of 150 seats. It can be arranged in different configurations. The premises were designed for promotions of around 75 students (Editor’s note up to 100): a classroom annexed with 100 places, tutorial rooms with 36 places, practical work rooms specific to the profession: medical imaging, electronics and IT. And they also thought about moments outside of class withn large hearth independent where we can relax! »

With these new arrangements, the ISIFC will also now be able to welcome students from other university courses. “We will also be able to receive conferences and industrialists in the modular amphitheater. Enough to further strengthen the link between school and the business world! », explains Vincent Armbruster Director of the ISIFC.

This building is financed by the Burgundy Franche-Comté Region, the University of Franche-Comté, Grand Besançon Métropole and the department as part of the Bouloie-Temis Campus transformation project.
