Kindu: Young UNICEF reporters raise awareness among students about M-pox

Young UNICEF reporters (U-Reporters) raised awareness among students on Monday, October 7 in Kindu, Maniema, about monkey pox called M-pox. This awareness session took place at the Enano institute. The students of this school were informed of the danger posed by this disease and the need to protect themselves and stop the chain of transmission.
With posters in hand showing the signs of Monkey pox disease, the young U-Reporters showed students that this disease poses an ongoing danger to the community. Young people have every interest in knowing not only the symptoms but also the method of prevention to fight against this scourge.
Kisindja Maiza Jam’s, young Kindu U-Reporter, explains:
“Given the extent of this disease in our country, this encourages us young U-Reporters to raise awareness among the community, especially students, about the symptoms and mode of transmission of this disease because this constitutes a permanent danger in our community “.
The students of the Enano institute were interested in this awareness to the point that some committed themselves to watching over the health of their brothers and sisters.
“I have often heard about this disease on the radio and it is today thanks to God that I have just seen the young U-Reporters come to raise awareness and as I also have little brothers, I am going to them too. help protect yourself against this disease,” says Joel Kibonge, student in the 4th commercial section.
The leaders of this school welcomed the initiative of the young U-Reporters and invited them to hold this awareness campaign regularly.
