NÎMES A week of awareness at the University Hospital for the 30th edition of Pink October

The objectives are multiple: to raise awareness of early detection which considerably increases the chances of recovery, to inform, educate and support patients and their loved ones.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women, with around 58,000 new cases diagnosed each year in . Prevention and early detection are essential to improve the chances of recovery. In 2023, the 5-year survival rate for women diagnosed at an early stage was 99%, highlighting the importance of awareness campaigns like Pink October.

Throughout the month of October, health professionals from Nîmes University Hospital, in collaboration with association partners, will organize various events aimed at communicating to the public the importance of early detection and prevention.

The program includes workshops led by specialists on the themes of “Cancer and sexuality” and “Art therapy”. Information stands will also be manned by partners and professionals from the University Hospital at the ICG, where visitors will be able to obtain information, exchange information, and learn life-saving (yet simple) actions such as self-examination.

Please note that from October 1 to 31, for the purchase of bouquets and floral arrangements, the Tropic Plantes store commits and donates €1 to the Nîmes University Hospital endowment fund.
