The Public Health Indicator: reliable and relevant data on the state of health in Quebec

The National Institute of Public Health of Quebec unveils the online launch of the Public Health Indicator, a tool facilitating access to the most recent data on the health status of the population of Quebec.

The Indicator is in fact an evolution of the information space formerly known as Santéscope. This new version, completely redesigned, is easier to use and offers more configurable indicators to assess temporal evolution as well as disparities according to gender, age and between socio-sanitary regions, using dynamic graphs. Some indicators also offer comparisons with other Canadian provinces, American states and other countries.

The data presented help to inform and equip the population and stakeholders in various sectors of activity and can support decision-making and serve as leverage for action. Tools accompany the indicators to facilitate their interpretation and use: methodological notes, a glossary and information on the proper use of comparisons.

The Public Health Indicator is an evolving project. The data contained therein are the most recent available and will be updated when new data becomes available. Developments will continue and new indicators will be added gradually. Ultimately, nearly 100 indicators covering various themes will be available.

The content of The Indicator will continue to grow, check it often!
