Luzech. Three associations organize heritage days

The Heritage Days weekend promises to be full of activities, with three Luzéchois associations combining their cultural assets around a programme that will leave no one indifferent.

The association La Trincade, which supports the tower’s rehabilitation project, will launch the festivities with an afternoon of introduction to the famous board game “La Tour de Luzech” on Saturday, September 21 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This activity, reserved for children aged 8 and over, will take place at the media library (free participation).

Sunday, September 22, two guided tours will be scheduled at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. departing from the Penitents Chapel, to discover the medieval heritage of Luzech (free participation to benefit the restoration of the tower). The association will complete its range of activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with its medieval fair in the heart of the presbytery gardens, intended for young knights from 4 to 10 years old (participation €2 with creative workshops and games of skill).

Also on Sunday 22nd, the association of Friends of the Donkeys of Luzech is organising the Melon Festival, with the participation of the Quercy Melon Producers’ Union, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year under the IGP label. On the programme, a country lunch with spit-roasted suckling pig and its giant walnut tart, will be hosted by the folk group Les Grillons Quercynois in the rue de la Ville (meals at €20 by booking on 06 83 99 56 23). A tasting and sale of delicious Lot melons will conclude the afternoon with, for gourmands, a competition for the biggest melon eater.

Claire Aberlenc and Alexis Gibert will also bewitch these places, thanks to the cultural association l’Esquisse which will offer an aperitif-tapas from 6 p.m. (meal at €8 by booking at 06 01 71 22 28). The notes from the repertoire of this duo, composed of great acoustic soul blues standards, will close these beautiful festivities with music.
