With the aim of offering patients suffering from gynecological cancers ever more personalized and qualitative care, the #gynecopath bringing together experts and modern technical platforms has been revised. It has been in place since January 6 on the Saint-Cloud site.
The Institut Curie, ranked 1st, 2nd and 5th for breast, ovarian and uterine cancers respectively in 2024 (hospital rankings in the newspaper Le Point), is a leading center in Europe in the treatment female cancers. The IHU (University Hospital Institute) Women’s Cancer Institute* created in 2024 is recognition of this leadership and marks the strong ambition of the Institut Curie on this subject. It aims to support and accelerate innovation.
Gynecological cancers, such as ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer or cervical cancer, require complex, multidisciplinary and coordinated care around specialists: surgery, medical oncology, radiotherapy, radiology, pathology, genetics and supportive care.
Some cases may require urgent diagnostic and therapeutic care, others may require access to innovation (access to clinical trials or innovative therapies) or strong expertise in the case of recourse surgeries by example.
A dedicated reception for the treatment of gynecological cancers
It is for all these reasons that the Saint-Cloud site has offered women a single entry point since January 6 thanks to the establishment of a reception office dedicated to this new path: a medical assistant coordinator and a coordination nurse guide patients in an appropriate and responsive manner depending on the situation.
The same organization will soon be implemented on the Paris site.
