It was at the Bagnères-de-Bigorre rescue center that Bagnères Shopping and the firefighters’ association presented a check to the League Against Cancer.
Thursday, November 28, the Bagnères merchants’ association, Shopping Bagnères with the city’s firefighters’ association, presented a check to the League Against Cancer, the result of registrations for the “She and Him” solidarity march, carried out last October 25.
A large participation despite unpredictable weather
The 210 registered participants contributed €1,500 to the fight against the disease. A significant sum compared to what the territory brought in as a whole.
Thibaut Jeanson, on behalf of the firefighters’ association, wanted to thank all those involved in the event, Graine de Samba and Stéphanie from Happy form for the extraordinary atmosphere which accompanied the walkers throughout the route, as well as the municipal services for financial and technical support and of course the many volunteers involved. Aurélien Cartade, for his part, president of Shopping Bagnères, announced that this success called for others, for the cause and that the 2025 edition would be prepared at the start of next year, with a dedicated working group. It was Mr. Lacoste for the League, who in turn thanked all those involved and reminded that this substantial sum will fully participate in the League’s fight against cancer.
When the cause is noble
The municipality can be pleased with the support it displays and maintains for the benefit of the associations and the events that they organize and support. Everyone was delighted with the results, the participation as well as the organization and even the announcement of the next edition. The disease that can strike everyone, cancer, for which research regularly announces new progress, deserves these commitments, as well as this support and this significant participation. The associations at the heart of these struggles demonstrate, if necessary, their dynamism and their vitality. The mayor of Bagnères with his deputy for sport, present for the occasion, each recalled their commitment and announced in advance their support for the next edition.
Shopping Bagnères in a new dynamic
It was the president of Shopping Bagnères who concluded by displaying his desire to develop his association by committing it even more to the city, in partnership if possible, with other associations, and thus participate in the influence of the territory.
