This Korean food which would have anti-obesity effects
You have certainly already heard of this food since it is one of the most famous Korean specialties in the world: kimchi, spicy fermented cabbage. The research regarding this product was carried out by a branch of the World Institute of Kimchi in collaboration with the Pusan National University Hospital and was published in the Journal of Functional Foods. This focused on 55 participantsall overweight. For a period of three months, a first group was administered one kimchi capsule per meal for a total quantity of 60 grams daily divided into three. The second group inherited a placebo.

At the end of the experiment, the researchers analyzed the data collected and found absolutely stunning results. Indeed, the group that consumed kimchi showed a decrease in body fat of 2.6% on average. The second group, with the placebo, saw their fat mass not remain the same, but increase by 4.7%. This study also revealed the beneficial effects of kimchi on the microbiota. Scientists have noticed an increase in the population of beneficial intestinal bacteria and a decrease in proteobacteria which are associated with obesity.

How to adopt it in your diet?
If you want to incorporate kimchi into your diet or eat it more regularly, no problem. You can make it yourself using many recipes available online or if you prefer something easier it is possible to buy some in already prepared pots.
Then you have to find what to eat it with. If you’re craving something traditionally Korean, bibimbap is still the number one choice. It is a combination of meat, vegetables, rice and egg.
