The research regarding this product was carried out by a branch of the World Institute of Kimchi in collaboration with the Pusan ​​National University Hospital and was published in the Journal of Functional Foods. This focused on 55 participantsall overweight. For a period of three months, a first group was administered one kimchi capsule per meal for a total quantity of 60 grams daily divided into three. The second group inherited a placebo.

At the end of the experiment, the researchers analyzed the data collected and found absolutely stunning results. Indeed, the group that consumed kimchi showed a decrease in body fat of 2.6% on average. The second group, with the placebo, saw their fat mass not remain the same, but increase by 4.7%. This study also revealed the beneficial effects of kimchi on the microbiota. Scientists have noticed an increase in the population of beneficial intestinal bacteria and a decrease in proteobacteria which are associated with obesity.
