GBS 70th anniversary highlights AI from specialist angles

On the occasion of its 70th anniversary, the GBS is organizing a webinar entitled « AI in our Common Day Profession » this Saturday, November 30. According to the GBS, the dialogue between the different specialties is particularly enriching. Thus, the program will address various perspectives, not to offer an exhaustive overview of developments, but to illustrate, through examples, the limitless possibilities that the future offers, explains Donald Claeys, Secretary General of the GBS

Artificial intelligence (AI) can indeed be a fantastic tool to further improve the treatment of patients and support them preventively. Current and future generations of specialists are already actively involved in clinical applications of AI and technology and knowledge training. “We use history to plan for the future,” it says.

Among the participants is Dr. Romaric Croes, who has previously shared his views on artificial intelligence in his field, pathology. He writes in particular: “One of the solutions to meet our need for brains lies in artificial intelligence, as well as in telepathology as an application for our future digital laboratories. These technologies will enable computers and algorithms to assist online pathologists beyond the boundaries of each hospital and laboratory in sorting, quantifying and screening digital cases. »

“This scenario is not yet another utopia. It exists, works and has already proven itself, particularly in Scandinavia. But, in the current Belgian context, this still remains a distant project. Without collaboration and exploration of new sources, this project will not be able to come to fruition. »

Accreditation in ethics and economics has been requested.
