Members of the Atelier patchwork threads and needles association presented their creations from the last two years with an exhibition which is being held in the rooms of the Barbara space until November 30 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This association, made up of around ten members, meets every week on Monday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., Edith-Piaf room to carry out sewing work either by hand or with a sewing machine. The pieces presented during this exhibition demonstrate very meticulous work which requires a lot of attention and know-how, because they are very impressive both in terms of their size and the complexity of the patterns. Bed covers, furniture covers or even hanging rugs, which are real decorative pieces, all have different patterns. These patterns are made with recycled fabrics. President Régine Pascal explains: “We cut fabric to make fabric again.” On display, a bedspread with patterns called “Grandmother’s Garden”, which the president composed by hand and which took her three years to complete. Others sew by machine and still take almost two years to complete their work with great attention to detail and patience. They also work together, like for the bedspread which is the prize of the raffle they organized for this event.
During the opening, visitors expressed their admiration for these creations and asked the exhibitors many questions about their working methods.
Mayor Yves Cazorla came to congratulate them: “Thank you to the president for her twenty-five years of loyalty to ensure that this association continues and congratulations to everyone for this beautiful exhibition.”
