In collaboration with the coordinator of the Valognes–Brix Health Center (Manche), Simon Philippe, the Brix nurse, Paolo Cardoso Martins, belonging to the ASALEE network (Liberal Health Action in Teams) working in conjunction with the five doctors from the medical practice in this town, will meet people attending the Brix summer market, on Wednesdays July 3 and 17 from 4 p.m.
Health professionals are mobilizing
The goal is to target an audience that is not followed, a little “off the radar”.
Among the missions of the coordinator of the Valognes-Brix outpatient liberal health center (PLSA), the implementation of actions such as Pink October, No Tobacco Month, awareness of the need for vaccination, colorectal cancer screening, hearing tests, etc. is essential for overcoming reluctance and preconceived ideas.
Given that one in 30 people will be affected by colorectal cancer during their lifetime – the second most deadly cancer – there are great risks in not getting screened. This is why, in an innovative approach, Paolo Cardoso Martins will be meeting customers at the summer market for two particularly important actions: vaccination and the colorectal screening.
