Drugs. The alert from laboratories on the deindustrialization of our country.

It's very good to throw flowers at each other and say “how good are we”… or others “you've seen how it's worse in the United States”. It's even better to make real observations and not give in to naive bliss. Optimism yes. Voluntarism? Yes too. But not naive bliss which is nothing other than willful blindness which has the consequence of encouraging and manufacturing inaction. We can only correct what we accept as being bad, to improve or to make more functional.

This is the case of agriculture which is plummeting, like energy which we can no longer afford or medicines without which we can no longer take care of ourselves.

Medicines: is moving towards deindustrialization, laboratories warn

Here is what Les Echos says, a newspaper once again not frankly neither defeatist nor conspiratorial.

“France sets drug prices too low and Europe does not defend its borders. We need safeguard measures and impose a share of local production on drugs sold in Europe, believes the chemist Seqens, who is in the process of relocalizing the production of the active ingredient of paracetamol.”

“France and Europe must take urgent measures, because in one year we have moved from a logic of reindustrialization to deindustrialization.” The situation is bleak and Pierre Luzeau accepts it. Manager of the French chemist Seqens, he is in the process of relocating to France the production of the active ingredient of paracetamol, which Europe has no longer manufactured since the 2000s. His factory currently being built in Péage-de-Roussillon (Isère) is invariably cited as an example of France's reconquest of its health sovereignty.

When we do not produce on site, here, and it is the law of supply and demand that applies, it should come as no surprise that laboratories sell to the highest bidders. French social security wants ridiculous prices. There is no problem. As always, the sellers either no longer produce or sell elsewhere. Result ?

In Hungary, no shortage of medicines.

In France up to 5,000 references are missing.

The results of a socialist policy always lead to this result.

However, I am not naive, and I know very well the damage of a policy without any rules or obligations.

Economic efficiency lies in a clever balance between these two points. A balance that requires pragmatism.

A general recently wrote “balance is courage”. His idea is very correct.
