A national forum on liver diseases in

This is the 25th national forum, on the initiative of SOS Hepatitis and Liver Diseases, an association chaired by Pascal Melin.

On Thursday 28 and Friday 29 November, this annual time of discussion will be carried out by liver patients, with associative actors, health professionals and various partners engaged in the fight against these pathologies caused by various factors: toxic substances (including alcohol and medications), viral hepatitis, overweight, obesity, diabetes, rare diseases with non-genetic pediatric onset.

The progression of these approximately 100 diseases mainly leads to liver failure, cirrhosis and liver cancer. Each year, nearly 12,000 liver cancers are diagnosed in . And this number is expected to increase: forecasts predict nearly 15,000 cancers in 2040.

Hepatitis, MASH and other diseases

The first day of the forum will be more specifically devoted to the current and future management of viral hepatitis, and the second to MASH and other diseases (previously called NASH, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, better known as fatty liver disease). ).

Among the specialists (from , , , , Créteil, , etc.), Professor Véronique Loustaud-Ratti, from University Hospital, hepatologist, outgoing president of the National Federation of Viral Hepatitis Centers and Networks, co- organizes this forum.
