Prudence is a healthy mother. Wearing a mask is once again compulsory in AP-HP establishments, in a context of strong spread of the bronchiolitis epidemic in Île-de- and active circulation of Covid-19.

The mask must now be worn “upon entering spaces in which patients circulate”, indicates the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Île-de-France in a press release. The rule applies to both professionals and patients, even those on an outpatient basis and therefore not staying in hospital. The CHU specifies that “those who come into contact with patients (including paramedics and volunteers)” as well as “visitors aged over 6 years” are also concerned.

The bronchiolitis epidemic is still raging in Île-de-France. According to data from Public Health France, 1,659 children under the age of 2 had to be taken to the emergency room during the week of November 4 to 10 alone, a figure which continues to increase. 28% of them were even hospitalized, mainly children under one year old.
